Colonel Trash Truck

1948 Gar Wood LP100 Load-Packer
Gar wood Industries revolutionized the garbage industry with their Load Packer. Though it began in 1938, significant numbers weren’t manufactured until after the War.  By 1949, over 2500 of these trucks were in use in municipalities across the country.  Quickly realizing that this was the way to go the body was upgraded and changed into the next model LP200. leaving only around 2600 units of the LP100 sold. To my knowledge this historically significant truck is the oldest 100% fully working rear load packer in existence. Everything works as it did in 1948 it could go on the route today as it did in the early days. It is used for local cruise nights and classic car shows.
